The OpenAFS Foundation, Inc., is a volunteer organiation dedicated to fostering the stability and growth of OpenAFS, an open source implementation of the AFS distributed network filesystem.

The Foundation was incorporated in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania on May 20 of 2013, as a non-profit organization. It is presently seeking national non-profit status with the IRS.

Who leads The Foundation?

The OpenAFS Foundation is spear-headed by a volunteer Board of Directors. This Board consists of volunteers, who are primarily OpenAFS users, community leaders, or other prominent members of the OpenAFS community.

What is OpenAFS?

OpenAFS is an open source software project implementing the AFS protocol, which is used for accessing files over a network as if they were on a local disk. Information about the OpenAFS software itself can be found on openafs.org.
